What is L.O.F.T.?

Community High School Youth Group

The L.O.F.T. — Living Out Faith Together — is a community high school youth group created to help students build authentic faith, meaningful friendships, and connection to Jesus and the local Church.

Across denominations, we have recognized a growing need in the Carson City area to better reach and support the next generation. As church attendance has declined over the years, youth ministry has often been the most affected. At the same time, one thing remains true: teens go where other teens are.

L.O.F.T. exists to bring churches, leaders, parents, and resources together to create spaces where students can belong, ask honest questions, grow in their relationship with Christ, and build lasting relationships with one another.

In addition to serving teens directly, L.O.F.T. also helps equip churches that want to start or strengthen youth ministries by providing lessons, training, support, and collaborative resources.

Whether you are a student looking for community, a parent searching for support, or a church wanting to invest in the next generation, there is a place for you here.

About Us

L.O.F.T. — Living Out Faith Together — is a movement focused on helping teenagers build authentic faith, meaningful friendships, and a deeper connection to the local Church.

We believe faith was never meant to be lived alone. In a world where many students feel isolated, overwhelmed, or disconnected, L.O.F.T. exists to create spaces where teens can belong before they have everything figured out. Whether someone has grown up in church their whole life, is questioning faith, or is simply looking for genuine community, there is a place for them here.

L.O.F.T. brings students together across churches, schools, and backgrounds to build relationships centered around Jesus. Through gatherings, conversations, worship, mentorship, service opportunities, and community events, we want to help students discover that following Jesus is not just something for Sunday mornings — it is something we live out together every day.

For parents, pastors, and community leaders, L.O.F.T. is not meant to replace the local church but to strengthen and support it. Our heart is to partner with churches throughout Northern Nevada to encourage students, build unity, and help raise up a generation grounded in faith, community, and purpose.

For students, this is a place where you can show up as yourself. No perfect answers required. No pressure to have it all together. Just real people pursuing Jesus together, asking honest questions, supporting one another, and learning what it means to live out faith in everyday life.

Because at the end of the day, we believe the next generation does not just need more programs — they need connection, purpose, mentorship, and a community that reminds them they are not alone.

What We Offer Churches

L.O.F.T. exists not only to serve teenagers directly, but also to equip churches that have a heart for the next generation but may not currently have the resources, staffing, curriculum, or training to build a sustainable youth ministry on their own.

We believe every student deserves a place to belong, grow spiritually, and be discipled — and we want to help churches make that possible.

Youth Ministry Support & Development

Starting or rebuilding a youth ministry can feel overwhelming, especially for smaller churches or volunteer-led teams. L.O.F.T. partners with churches by helping provide practical support, structure, and guidance for developing healthy, sustainable youth ministries.

Why Donate?

Your support helps create spaces where teenagers can encounter authentic community, mentorship, and the love of Jesus in a world where many feel isolated and disconnected.

Donations to L.O.F.T. directly help fund student gatherings, mentorship opportunities, worship nights, outreach events, leadership development, and practical support for churches building youth ministries in their own communities.

Every donation helps us continue the mission of connecting students to faith, healthy community, and the local Church — while also equipping churches and leaders with the tools they need to invest in the next generation.

Q & A

Why meet outside a church building?

The heart behind L.O.F.T. is connection. Meeting in neutral spaces helps create an environment where students from different backgrounds and churches can feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are. Coffee shops, parks, community spaces, and local hangouts naturally create opportunities for conversation, friendship, and authentic faith discussions outside the pressure some students may feel walking into a church building for the first time.

This does not replace the local church — it supports it. L.O.F.T. exists to help students build relationships, grow in faith, and become more connected to healthy church communities and mentors.

Why are all churches invited to participate?

L.O.F.T. exists to unite, not compete. We believe the Church is bigger than one congregation, denomination, or ministry style. Teenagers today are often looking for authentic community, encouragement, and people who will walk alongside them in faith. By inviting multiple churches to participate, we create more opportunities for students to experience the love of Jesus through a broader, healthier community.

Our desire is to build bridges among churches, youth leaders, parents, and students throughout Northern Nevada — encouraging collaboration rather than isolation.

What if you take the youth from our church?

L.O.F.T. is not designed to “pull” students away from their home church. In fact, one of our biggest goals is to encourage students to become more engaged in their local church community. We actively encourage students to attend, serve, and build relationships within their home churches.

L.O.F.T. is meant to be a third community space where students can build friendships across churches, ask honest questions, and grow in their relationship with Christ alongside other believers. We want to partner with churches, not compete with them.
